Nurse Management - Psychiatry - Director of Nursing in Los Angeles, California
Location:Comments: This Medical Center's Behavioral Health Unit provides psychiatric care for adults in a comfortable and confidential environment. Treatment is individualized to meet each patient's unique needs on three separate units. There is a wide range of psychiatric illnesses including: psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and substance-related disorders. The interdisciplinary team is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, group therapists, nursing staff and psychiatric rehabilitation therapists. Together they design an individualized treatment plan, provide group therapy and therapeutic activities seven days per week in a supportive environment. The Behavioral Health Unit offers a specialized treatment program with two separate tracts. Groups, such as reality orientation, creative therapy, anger management, stress management and coping skills, increase esteem and emotional expression and provide useful tools for living with a mental illness. In addition, our dual diagnosis tract focuses on the double challenge of having both a psychiatric illness and a chemical dependency. It provides groups that address the unique issues relevant to these patients. The Detox/Rehab program offers a range of chemical dependency treatment options designed to meet the specific needs of each patient. Inpatient care is intended for adults who need medical supervision during detoxification as well as relief from the stressors that can trigger destructive behavior. The Day Treatment program allows patients to return to home or sober living after a full day of treatment, and the Outpatient Program allows individuals to continue working during the day and attend treatment in the evening. An Aftercare Program provides follow up by offering a meeting one night a week for a year. All of the programs vary in length of stay and utilize support and educational groups that can include the families of participants. PLEASE EMAIL YOUR RESUME TO
